It appears that Windows XP doesn't allow for playing DVDs? I tried loading up my old ATI Media Center which had/has the ability to play DVDs ... Whenever I would load in a DVD, the program would fire up, but the DVD would not play ... Very frustrating when I was able to do it prior to upgrading to XP ... I guess I just haven't tried it in all that time ... So, I did a Google search on Windows XP DVD and the very first link that turned up was a link to a Microsoft page where you could purchase the ability to play/create DVDs/MP2s and another for MP3s ... So, I purchased the ability to play DVDs for $14.95 from InterVideo ... I had already purchased Music Match Jukebox and I can RIP CDs to MP3s, so I figured I didn't need that portion ... But what a crock ... I guess I may have been able to go another way with it (which would have been preferred), but I was defeated and put the credit card to use ... _________________ For excellent web services at affordable prices, please check out http://www.icuweb.net |
